A Gardiner Community Center Update

In the coming months we'll be covering a few notable projects that have been funded by Gardiner Resort Tax Funds. First up is a progress report from Dennis McIntosh, Greater Gardiner Community Council (GGCC) President.

"Exciting progress continues at the Gardiner Community Center/Eagles Hall renovation project. With approximately 95% of the interior demolition complete, the project has reached a major milestone and is now transitioning into the rebuilding phase.

Recent work includes connecting the new lowered sewer line in the back alley, forming a portion of the new concrete foundation, and beginning interior wall framing on the main floor. Additional masonry work and restoration of the historic stone walls are scheduled in the coming weeks.

The project team has also identified a significant cost-saving opportunity through updated engineering plans. By re-engineering key structural components, the existing roof structure can be retained, avoiding the substantial expense of a full roof replacement and helping maximize project resources.

The Gardiner community's ongoing support has been instrumental in moving this project forward. The GGCC Board extends its sincere appreciation to the many volunteers and to the Gardiner Resort Area District for years of grant support. With construction well underway, there is growing excitement as the vision for a renewed community gathering space comes closer to becoming reality."
